About Us

Medical Trauma Support was started to educate the community about medical trauma, offer resources for learning about medical trauma, create connection between people impacted by medical trauma and to offer resources to help those impacted by medical trauma feel better. Our dream is that every person who has experienced medical trauma can heal and feel good again. We are here to help you as you find your path to healing.

About the Founder

Hi, my name is Sarah and I am a mom, wife, trauma informed yoga teacher, a doula, a mental health peer support specialist and a social worker. I am passionate about offering support to others and became really interested in medical trauma because of personal experience of not being able to find anyone to help who knew about medical trauma. I hope we can walk this path of healing ourselves and our families from medical trauma together.

About the Peer Specialists

Hi, my name is Anne Spence (she, her) and I’m an artist and peer specialist with lived experience of trauma caused by the medical system.

Like many people, I’ve found that being in community with others can be deeply restorative. A burden shared is a burden halved, as they say, so I’d welcome the opportunity to listen and hold space for whatever you’d like to share. For me, connecting with fellow travelers, and supporting each other along this winding, dazzling, painful road of being human is at the very heart of healing. I’d be honored to be on this road with you.
